The Society of Composers, Inc., 6th Annual National Student Conference will be held April 2-3, at the University of Iowa School of Music in Iowa City, IA. Scores will be accepted from all student members and student chapter members of the Society of Composers, Inc.

The resident ensembles for the conference will include the University of Iowa Choirs, the University of Iowa Symphonic Band, the Center for New Music, the Electronic Music Studios, and faculty and student performers of the University of Iowa School of Music.

Available Ensembles:

Compositions for solo or combinations of the above resources are welcomed. Electro-acoustic music (16.2 Channels available) including pieces for live electronics, acoustic soloist or ensemble and electronics, or playback alone is welcomed. Other instrumentation may be available to accommodate some selected pieces.

Acceptable formats for electroacoustic music:
ADAT, and CD playback, a Macintosh G4 computer, and various keyboards and synthesizers are available. Every effort will be made to accommodate performance requirements.

Each composer may submit up to two works. There is no established limit on duration but feasibility of performance will be a consideration.

Attendance at the conference is required of all composers whose works will be performed.
